End User Licence Agreement

Version 1.0, in effect from 2026-06-01.

This agreement governs your use of the LumasPDF engine and the development kit around it. It sits underneath the terms of service, which govern the purchase.

The grant

You may install and use the SDK on as many machines as the developers your licence covers need. You may embed the engine in applications you build and distribute those applications to any number of end users, royalty-free, with no per-copy or per-document fee.

If your edition includes source code, you may read it, build it, and modify it for your own use. The result is still covered by this agreement.

What you may not do

Four restrictions, and they exist to protect the product rather than to trip you up.

• Redistribute the SDK itself -- headers, bindings, examples or a standalone engine binary -- as a development kit or component library.
• Offer the engine's functionality to third parties as a service whose substance is the engine rather than your own application.
• Share, publish or embed a licence key anywhere a third party can extract it from.
• Remove or obscure the copyright and third-party notices shipped in the download.

Third-party components

The engine embeds open-licensed font faces and other third-party components. Their licences and the notices they require are included in every download. Nothing in this agreement overrides them.

Ending the licence

The licence ends if you breach it, or if the order it came from is refunded or charged back. Ending it stops your right to use and redistribute the engine from that point.

As the refund policy says: this is a contractual end, not a technical one. Nothing switches off.

Versions

Acceptance is recorded against a version number, so every version stays readable at its own address for as long as the record does.
