Purpose. Draw a signature-validation status icon (a framed box) on the current page at an explicit position, and select which signature field subsequent signing operations target.

Description. pdfPlaceSigFieldValidateIcon's SigField parameter is accepted by the ABI but the real drawing call (PlaceSigValidateIconH) takes only PosX/PosY/Width/Height — no field handle at all — so the icon is drawn generically at the given position regardless of which specific field SigField names; it does not visually reflect that particular field's actual validation state (the box appearance is a fixed placeholder, per the "framed box" description, not a real green-check/red-X validity render). pdfSetActiveSigField stores the handle for later use by whichever signing operation consults an "active" field (this chapter did not trace every consumer of that stored active-field state beyond the setter itself).
