Troubleshooting
The five failures behind most support tickets, and what each one means.
- The library will not load
- Nearly always a bitness mismatch, or the engine sitting somewhere the loader does not look. Check both before anything else.
- Output carries a demonstration mark
- The engine is running unlicensed. Either the key is not reaching it, or the key does not cover the platform you are on.
- A key is refused on one machine but works on another
- The two machines are different platforms, and the package your key names does not cover one of them.
- A feature returns nothing
- The capability is not in your edition, or it is an extra your edition cannot buy. The effective feature set is the edition's, intersected with the key's.
- A newer release is not covered
- Its build stamp is outside the window your maintenance bought. The previous build is unaffected and keeps working.
None of these are states the engine enters over time. Every one of them is the same on the first day and the thousandth, which is what makes them diagnosable: if something worked yesterday and not today, the licence is not the reason.
